PURPOSE: A sensing method of the washing amount of a drum type washing machine is provided to prevent vibration and noise and improve rigidity by accelerating in a favorable pattern to dispersion of the washing amount. CONSTITUTION: A first table is prepared by measuring current increasing to reference motor rotational speed per the washing amount. A second table is prepared by measuring variation of current according to variation of power(S10). Duty of PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) increases step by step after putting the laundry(S20,S30). Motor rotational speed corresponding with duty of PWM is detected by feeding back duty of PWM of each step(S40). Current for driving a motor is measured when motor rotational speed reaches reference motor rotational speed(S50,S70,S90). The washing amount corresponding with measured current is sensed by referring to first and second table selectively(S100,S120). Thereby, vibration and noise are prevented and rigidity of a tub is improved by making dispersion of the washing amount regular. |
