PURPOSE: A knocking sensing method of a CVVT(Continuously Variable Valve Timing) vehicle is provided to prevent mis-sensing of knocking by monitoring variation of a valve timing-desired value and recognizing a knocking sensing release area if valve timing is changed over a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION: A knocking sensing method of a CVVT vehicle comprises steps of sensing a signal from a knocking sensor(ST10); receiving a valve timing-desired value and valve timing variation influencing the mis-sensing of knocking by engine operation conditions(ST20); deciding whether the variation of the valve timing-desired value is over a set value(ST30); producing a knocking strength signal if the variation of the valve timing-desired value is under the set value(ST40); receiving a knocking decision reference value by engine operation areas(ST50); comparing the knocking strength signal with the knocking decision reference value by engine operation areas(ST60); retarding ignition time for the ignition time retard by engine operation areas if the knocking strength signal exceeds the knocking decision reference value by engine operation areas(ST70); and operating with a mapping ignition time if the knocking strength signal is less than the knocking decision reference value(sT80).
