PURPOSE: A method for editing stored files in a portable terminal is provided to select and edit at least one of stored files from a selected edition list when a signal is sensed to select one of edition lists, thereby using a music file as a desired bell sound of a user. CONSTITUTION: A controller checks whether a signal for converting into a multi edition mode is inputted(301). If so, the controller converts into the multi edition mode and displays edition lists(302). The controller checks whether a signal for selecting one of the edition lists is inputted(303). If not, the controller checks whether a signal for selecting a mixed edition function of the edition lists is inputted(304). If not, the controller checks whether a signal for selecting an option edition function of the edition lists is inputted(305). If so, the controller adds an option to at least one music file and a moving image file stored in a memory(313). The controller checks whether a signal for storing the music file and the moving image file is inputted(320). If so, the controller completes the procedure.
