PURPOSE: A motion picture decoding method is provided to prevent picture quality from being deteriorated due to packet loss. CONSTITUTION: Compressed motion picture information is received and decoded(S401). It is judged whether there is PSC(Picture Start Code) information(S402). When there is the PSC information, video packets are decoded according to a normal process(S408). When there is no PSC information due to an error, GBSC(Group of Block Start Code) information is searched in GOB(Group Of Block) header information of a decoded video frame(S404). When there is no GBSC information, next input packet information is decoded to search the GBSC information(S403). When the GBSC information exists, GFID(GOB Frame ID) information in the GOB is decoded and it is judged whether the GFID is identical to GFID values of previously decoded video frames(S405,S406). When the GBSC information exists and the GFID is identical to GFID values of previously decoded video frames, video packets are decoded using the previous video frame size, picture type and quantizer information(S407). |
