<p>PURPOSE: A primitive WI-FI architecture for an 802.11 network is provided to supply an API, and to supply a communication method among network stack layers such as stations and access points, an NIC(Network Interface Card), and a user mode application, consequently a dynamic access point or a station configuration is enabled while a multi-layer wireless network is formed. CONSTITUTION: An 802.11 NIC(202) is connected to a wireless LAN(204). When 802.11 packets are received, a portion of the 802.11 packets is passed to a protocol of a station driver(206). When the 802.11 packets are transmitted, an NIC(200) receives the 802.11 packets from the station driver(206), and transmits the packets to a destination through the wireless LAN(204). The station driver(206) receives the packets from the NIC(202), and converts a portion of the packets into 802.3 packets. The driver(206) presents 802.1X packets to an 802.1X supplier(210). The driver(206) receives 802.3 packets from 802.3 protocols(208), and converts the packets into 802.11 packets before passing the packets to the NIC(202). The driver(206) transmits the 802.1X packets through a station server(212).</p> |
