DEVICE FOR PREVENTING VORTEX OF MOLTEN MATERIAL IN MAIN IRON TROUGH OF BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE: A device for preventing vortex of molten material in main iron trough of blast furnace is provided which is installed on the main iron trough to suppress vortex of molten material causing local erosion of castable refractory material of the main iron trough. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a fixed shaft(22) inserted into penetration holes at both sides of fixed cover(10); a fixed frame(11) fixed by the fixed shaft at both sides; a plurality of vortex preventing dams(12) adhered to a lower part of the fixed frame to prevent vortex of molten material; and a cylinder(13) attached to one side of the fixed shaft to move the vortex preventing dams up and down, wherein the bottom part of the vortex preventing dams is tapered to a certain inclination angle to prevent the molten material from flowing back after the molten material is naturally flown in from the exit side, and wherein the cylinder is connected to the fixed shaft by pin to rotate the fixed shaft connected to the cylinder rod to an angle of 90 degrees and vertically move the vortex preventing dams to an angle of 90 degrees at the same time when rod of the cylinder is moved back and forth.
