PURPOSE: An image processing method and apparatus are provided to arrange decoration in an appropriate position of the picture of a person in an appropriate size without having a complicated operation. CONSTITUTION: An image processing method includes a step of correlating decoration with information about arrangement in the body region of a person, and a step of setting the position of the body region in an input image. The image processing method further includes a step of deciding the arrangement of decoration to suit to the set position of the body region using the arrangement information, a step of synthesizing the decoration and the input image, and a step of outputting the synthesized input image.
