PURPOSE: A method for servicing a reversed image in a video phone is provided to apply a reverse effect to an image of a sender, and to display a reversed image on a terminal of a receiver, thereby supplying various image communication user environments. CONSTITUTION: A system decodes an image signal of other party based on compression/restoration format(S301), and reverses the decoded image signal of the other party(S302). The system converts a color of a reversed image(S303). The reversed image is displayed on a display(S304). If a user selects to display an original image by using a key input portion, the image signal of the other party is processed in a digital signal processor and is displayed on the display. If the user selects to display the reversed image, the reversed image is displayed on the display.
