PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling a memory for digital signal processing are provided to control signals input/output to/from two digital signal processors using a single memory slot and buffer. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling a memory for digital signal processing includes the first signal processor(100) for a digital still camera, the second signal processor(200) for a digital video camera, a memory stick(500), a signal switch(300), a tri-state buffer(400), a key input unit(700), and a controller(600). The first and second signal processors respectively include interfaces(110,210). The memory stick records or reproduces digital signals. The signal switch selects signals input/output to/from the first and second signal processors and connects the selected signals to signals input/output to/from the memory stick. The tri-state buffer allows the first and second signal processor to be communicated with the memory stick. The controller generates a control signal(620) for switching the signal switch and a control signal(630) for controlling the tri-state buffer. |
