METHOD FOR MANAGING SUBSCRIBER NETWORK USING DOWNLINK CHANNEL OF CATV SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for managing a subscriber network using a downlink channel of a CATV system is provided to include a control signal in a downlink channel going toward a subscriber terminal from an H/E(Head/End) unit of a CATV system, thereby remotely controlling a data signal transmitted to the subscriber terminal. CONSTITUTION: A system generates a control signal having a predetermined frequency(210). The system transmits the generated control signal with a data signal through a distribution network(220). An outdoor final distributor detects the control signal among transmitted signals, and switches a channel connected with a subscriber terminal according to contents of the detected control signal(230). If a user subscribes for a service or cancels the service, an H/E unit of the system generates/transmits a control signal of a channel corresponding to a specific ID number, to control the data signal.
