PURPOSE: A slap noise reduction device of a piston is provided to reduce a slap noise produced by friction when the side of a piston is bumped into the inner wall of a cylinder, by obliquely forming a top ring. CONSTITUTION: A piston(20) forms plural ring grooves(22,23), to which a compression ring and an oil ring are fitted, to the upper part of the outer peripheral surface. The piston is received in a cylinder of an engine while the middle part of the piston is axially combined with the upper end of a connecting rod by a piston pin(25). In a slap noise reduction device of the piston, the position of the piston pin exists on a vertical line identical with the gravity center of the piston. To reduce friction of the piston and the cylinder, an uppermost ring groove(21) of the piston is obliquely formed to mount a top ring(30) to be fitted to the upper part of the outer peripheral surface of the piston, at a mounting angle of being inclined in a direction.
