PURPOSE: A motion vector predictive coding and decoding method is provided to perform motion predictive coding/decoding processes for types of macro blocks of each motion vector predictive module optimized by the types of the macro blocks, thereby reducing calculations without deteriorating coding performance. CONSTITUTION: A macro block mode(301) is distinguished into four kinds(303,304,305,306) in consideration of algorithm characteristics and substantial performance frequency. A motion vector predictive module(302) is distinguished into four motion vector predictive modules(307,308,309,310). Each of the motion vector predictive modules(307,308,309,310) is a function that is called for a substantial motion vector prediction. |
