The double cylinder lock has a high strength housing sleeve (1) open at least one end and dimensioned to match a 'European' lock housing. The sleeve receives an insert (10) in brass containing the stator pistons pressed into the correspondingly shaped section of the sleeve. The rotors (20) are mounted in seatings (5) formed in the sleeve.
