PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a motor which drives a compressor body by avoiding no-load operation of the compressor and to prevent early failure caused by a starting current, which frequently occurs in the motor. SOLUTION: The compressor has a motor temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the motor for driving the compressor body, the first determination means for determining if the compressor is in the no-load operation mode by comparing a detected value of operation mode detected by an operation mode detection means with a predetermined value of no-load operation mode, the second determination means for determining, in the no-load operation mode, if the motor can immediately restart after it stops based on a detected motor temperature detected by the motor temperature detection means, and a motor stop command output means for stopping the motor if the motor can immediately restart after it stops.
