PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a controller which can stabilize operation from the end of a metering process to the start of injection and shorten a molding cycle. SOLUTION: A screw is rotated at a set speed, back pressure is controlled to keep resin pressure at a set pressure, and the screw is made to retreat. When the retreat position of the screw reaches a change-over point Ss set in the vicinity of a set metering finish position Sb, the control of the back pressure for keeping the resin pressure at the set resin pressure is stopped. A command for positioning the screw at the metering finish position Sb at a set speed is outputted, and the screw is positioned at the metering finish position. Simultaneously, when a screw position reaches a change-over point Ss, the screw is reversely rotated by a set quantity at a set speed. In this way, the screw reaches the metering finish position, the pressure of a molten resin is reduced by the reverse rotation of the screw, a drooling phenomenon etc., are prevented, and a wait until the start of injection and stabilization are made possible.
