PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upper vehicle body structure of a vehicle which enables ensurement and improvement in vehicle body rigidity of a center pillarless vehicle with a roof opening and realizes load dispersion by receiving load when a door is closed and transmitting the load to a frame of the roof opening. SOLUTION: In the upper vehicle body structure of the vehicle, a continuous door opening 15 with no divider on the lateral side of the vehicle body is openably/closably covered with a front door 2 with its front part openably/closably pivoted to the vehicle body and a rear door 3 with its rear part openably/closably pivoted to the vehicle body. The upper vehicle body structure of the vehicle is provided with the roof opening 61 formed on a roof part 56 of the vehicle and communicating a cabin with the outside of the cabin, an openable/closable member 62 for covering the roof opening 61 openably/closably, and a sliding roof unit 63 to support the openable/closable member 62. A load transmitting member 75 to transmit load in vehicle width direction is provided between the sliding roof unit 63 and a part corresponding to upper parts of free ends of both doors 2, 3 in a closed state on the lateral side of the sliding roof unit 63.
