摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation converting mechanism of an internal combustion engine for efficiently deriving as a torque a combustion pressure of an engine, while resolving a malfunction by which an efficiently operating engine rotation-speed is limited. SOLUTION: Rotation of a piston 13 is restrained by locking of a detent pin 18 in a groove 17. Helical gear teeth 13a, 19a are provided respectively to the piston 13 and an intermediate link 19. A descent of the piston 13 by combustion pressure is converted to a rotational motion around an axis L1, and the motion is transmitted to the ring 19 to rotate it. Between the ring 19 and an output shaft 15, a 1st one-way clutch 21 is provided, which comes into engagement, when the rotational speed of the ring relative to the output shaft goes into the positive side. In the intermediate ring 19, a shaft 22 is installed, which is coupled to the piston 13 through a cam groove 24 and a driven pin 25. The shaft 22 is rotated with descent of the piston 13 to store combustion energy, and continues to rotate and push up the piston 13 by the energy even after the end of the descent.
