摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for wavelength selecting regulation on a subscriber's premise side while the same capacity of transmission is secured in an up link and a down link with a coated optical fiber, in an optical subscriber network in which two-way communication is done between an office device and a plurality of subscriber's premise with an optical signal of wavelength division multiplex. <P>SOLUTION: The office device transmits as down signals first optical signals of a plurality of wavelengths belonging to a first wavelength band containing data for transmitting to each subscriber's premise, second optical signals of a plurality of wavelengths belonging to a second wavelength band for generating an up signal, and third signals for excitation light. An array wave-guiding diffraction grating part branching the down signals from the office device transmits only signals allocated to each subscriber's premise out of the first and the second optical signals, and output them together with the third optical signals to each subscriber's premise. Each optical line terminating device of subscriber's premise is constituted so as to generate a wavelength for the up signal by extracting the signal in the first wavelength band and that in the second wavelength band with a filter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
