<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a feeding paper sheet remaining in a machine when the machine stops due to erroneous paper sheet size setting and to increase productivity of an image when paper sheet size setting is normal. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is provided with an image forming mechanism, a paper feeding cassette, a conveyance means for transferring the feeding paper sheet to an image forming means and discharging paper sheet completing image formation, a paper sheet sensor detecting the presence or absence of the paper sheet in a conveyance passage at a predetermined position, size setting means 121, 123, 131 for setting size information of the paper sheet in the paper feeding cassette, and a paper sheet trouble detection means for detecting abnormality in paper sheet conveyance based on the detection of presence or absence of the paper sheet by the paper sheet sensor and the set size information. The image forming apparatus is provided with a paper feeding control means 131 which detects change of the size information, generates change information (PSDF=O), feeds the paper sheet at a short period feeding (continuous paper feeding) mode when there is no change information (PSDF=1), and feeds the paper sheet at a long period (one paper sheet feeding) mode longer than the short period feeding mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
