PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw restricted in the occurrence of damage to a ball and noise when picking the ball up and improved in load capacity without increasing the number of ball (number of winding) per a circuit. SOLUTION: A side cap fitting surface 16 is provided in the peripheral surface of a nut 14, and a side cap 17 for picking a ball 15 up in a direction corresponding to a lead angle of ball screw grooves 11 and 13 and for returning the ball to the initial position is fitted to the side cap fitting surface 16.
