PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air treating device for kitchen, and a cooking appliance capable of maintaining good working environment even when exhaust from a cooker cannot be exhausted outside. SOLUTION: An air treating part 1 as the air treating device for kitchen is disposed above a fryer 5 to treat exhaust from the fryer 5. The air treating part 1 is composed of a dehumidifying duct 17 constituted on the inner side of a heat insulating box 12 and lifted by the inflow of exhaust from the fryer 5; a cooler 13; a deodorizing duct 18 constituted in the heat insulating box 12 on the front side of the dehumidifying duct 17 and lowered by the inflow of exhaust which passed through the dehumidifying duct 17; a deodorizer 9; a blower 7 for allowing the exhaust to flow into the respective ducts 17, 18; and a door 2 provided at the front face of the heat insulating box 12. An exhaust duct 25 is formed in the door 2, and the exhaust which passing through the duct 18 flows in from the lower part of the exhaust duct 25 and is exhausted from an exhaust port 26 at the upper part of the door 2.
