PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission wherein the lubricating oil continuously flows from an inner diameter side to an outer diameter side of a disk with the centrifugal force generated by rotation of the disk to effectively cool the whole of the disk. SOLUTION: This toroidal continuously variable transmission is provided with input disks 4 and 5 and output disks 7 and 8 coaxially, separately and rotatably supported inside a case 1, yokes 13a and 13b for rockably supporting a pivotal shaft of a trunnion and fixed to the case, and a plurality of power rollers rolling to be brought in contact with between the input disks and the output disks to transmit the power with friction. An anti-traction surface of at least one of the input disks 4 and 5 and the output disks 7 and 8 is provided with a plurality of reinforcing ribs 51 radially in the radial direction. An oil passage 52 for supplying the lubricating oil to a space between the adjacent reinforcing ribs 51 is provided in the inner diameter part of the disks. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
