PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a foam glass board only by simple firing and foaming processes without using adhesives and binders. SOLUTION: Glass is pulverized so that the size is≤200μm. As a foaming agent, at least one kind selected from carbonate such as calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, and a mineral with the same as constituting substance, silicon carbide and sodium nitrate is added and mixed therein, firing is performed at 700 to 950°C inside a kiln having a belt conveyer, or inside a batch type shuttle kiln. After foaming, cooling is performed, and, if required, compacting is performed to obtain the foamed glass board. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
