PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a communication load in a network scanner, even when operations of reading condition setting and image data transmission are repeated. SOLUTION: A part of scanned data is designated in page (S107), and the designated part is transmitted to a terminal (S108). Also, a function of transmitting the residual part of image data or deleting it without transmitting, depending on a response from the terminal is provided. Further, processing before deleting the image data due to expiration of a storage time limit (transmission of the residual part of the image data, transmission of the whole image data) can be designated (S109).
