PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal oxide dispersion which is prevented from the aggregation of a metal oxide filler and can form a thin metal film on a substrate at a low cost by a heat treatment at a low temperature and a method of manufacturing a thin metal film on a substrate by using the dispersion. SOLUTION: The metal oxide dispersion is formed by dispersing a reducible metal oxide with a particle diameter of≤200nm in an organic dispersion medium containing a sugar alcohol. The method of manufacturing the thin metal film comprises applying the metal oxide dispersion to a substrate and reducing the metal oxide applied on the substrate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
