PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera that enables the full expression of a person to be photographed by attracting, through a simple structure, the interest of the person to be photographed. SOLUTION: A stroboscope device 16 is stored in a storing recess 1219 of the body 12 of the camera 10. The stroboscope device 16 is equipped with an oscillating mechanism 20 that causes oscillation of a light emitting part 18 between a position projected from the storing recess 1219 and a position stored in the storing recess 1219. With a photographing mode set at a regular timer mode or a performance timer mode, during the period after a shutter switch 1214 is pressed until a photographing motion is completed, the light emitting part 18 of the stroboscopic device 16 moves from the stored position to the projected position, so that a transformation is actuated, at an external place of the camera 10, visible from the person to be photographed.
