PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating water-soluble dye-containing waste water, which is good in decoloration efficiency to high-concentration colored waste water discharged from a manufacturing process for reactive dyes and is industrially advantageous. SOLUTION: The colored waste water containing the water-soluble dye (a) and/or (b) is mixed with dicyandiamide system cationic matter in the presence of Ca2+to flocculate the water-soluble dye and the flocculated dye is separated. (a) The dyes contains a fiber reactive group ofβ-sulfato ethyl sulfone group and/or halogenation triazinyl group. (b) The dye contains a non-fibrous reactive group ofβ-hydroxy ethyl sulfone group and/or hydroxy substitution triazinyl group. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
