The torque sensor (1) consists of a magnetic sensor (7), a magnet (5) and an assembly of magnetic rings (6) having claws arrayed around at regular intervals. Each claw (6a) of the ring is interposed between adjacent claws of the other rings. Each claw is geometrically shaped so as to increase the density of the magnetic flux flowing through the ring assembly. The magnet is rotated relative to the ring assembly upon input of torque, causing the density of the magnetic flux to change as a function of the torque which is sensed by the magnetic sensor.
