HIGHLY FILLED COMPOSITE CONTAINING RESIN AND FILLER

A highly filled composite is formed by extruding through a multiple screw extruder a thermoplastic resin and sufficient filler so that an autogranulating extrudate exits the extruder barrel. The extruder is operate d without an exit manifold, strand die or breaker plate. The extrudate forms irregularly shaped granules. The granules provide a molding composition that can be used to form highly filled molded articles such as fuel cell separato r plates and end plates by compression, injection or compression-injection molding.
