The papermaking or paper finishing machine, and especially a web coating station, has at least one cleaning unit (100e) with a number of cleaning components to give a permanent or intermittent automatic cleaning action while the machine is working and/or when the machine is at rest. The cleaning unit has a number of jet assemblies (250e,252e,254e,256e) to apply an intensive cleaning action on the coating applicator (10e), the doctor (21e) and the counter roller (20e). The jet assemblies have a swing movement, or are shifted for alignment at their cleaning targets. The cleaning station is covered by a shrouding (260e).
