INK JET RECORDING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous ink jet recording element which instantaneously absorbs an ink; shows a successful quality after imaging; forms a water/wear-resistant image; and is easily manufactured.

SOLUTION: This ink jet recording element includes a support carrying a fusible porous image-receptive layer which contains at least two different kinds of hydrophobic polymer particles with a differing glass transition temperature, the first type of the substantially monodisperse hydrophobic polymer particle at a higher Tg than about 60°C and the second type of the hydrophobic polymer particle at a lower Tg than about 25°C.
