PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer in which disposal of waste ink can be facilitated. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer comprises a rectangular prism container 31 in which a bottle 33 for collecting waste ink is disposed and an ink absorber 35 is provided in the waste ink bottle 33. On the inside of the front/rear and left/right side faces of the container 31, light sources 32 for irradiating the waste ink bottle 33 with UV rays are disposed, respectively, and the waste ink bottle 33 is composed of a transparent or an opaque member transmitting UV rays. When each UV light source 32 is lighted, waste ink in the waste ink bottle 33 can be stiffened while being absorbed into the absorber 35. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
