PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally stratified heat storage tank capable of exhibiting sufficient heat storage performance even in a water tank of narrow width. SOLUTION: Horizontally extending header pipelines 11, 12 are respectively arranged at an upper part and a lower part near an internal wall surface 10a of the water tank 10 for storing cold water or hot water. An upper diffuser 13 extending to pass under the upper header pipeline 11 from the internal wall surface 10a so that the tip part reaches almost a water surface is provided around the upper header pipeline 11, and a lower diffuser 14 extending to pass above the lower header pipeline 12 from the internal wall surface 10a so that the tip part reaches almost the bottom face 10b of the water tank is provided around the lower header pipeline 12. The respective tip parts of the diffusers 13, 14 are provided with collar parts 13a, 14a functioning as flow straightening plates along the water surface or the bottom face 10b.
