PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shovel 11 capable of using a number of parts in common to the different specifications of a revolving superstructure 14. SOLUTION: The hydraulic backhoe 11 has a lower structure 12 and the upper revolving body 14 revolving to the lower structure 12. A peripheral section 75 in which both side sections 75a and 75b are formed in an approximately U shape extensively over a rear section 75c from both side sections 75a and 75b in a linear shape in the longitudinal direction is formed to the upper revolving body 14. A driver's seat 40 is mounted inside the peripheral section 75 on the upper revolving body 14, and a fuel tank 64 and covers 51 and 56 are secured to the peripheral section 75 of the upper revolving body 14. The shapes of both side sections 75a and 75b of the peripheral section 75 of the upper revolving body 14 are not changed as the side sections 75a and 75b are left as they are formed in the linear shape, and the fuel tank 64 of the peripheral section 75 and the covers 51 and 56 or the like can be used as they are even in the case of the different specifications of a length in the longitudinal direction of the upper revolving body 14.
