<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicator for providing more comfortable and detailed indication on the operation of each heating area of a heater, and to allow a user to quickly and viscerally determine an indicated state. <P>SOLUTION: According to an example of this invention, an electric heating apparatus for household use such as a glass ceramic hob has at least one heater. The heater is divided into several flat heating areas in a state that they are at least partially independently started together and/or independently for heating operation. The indicator optically indicates the heating operation or the operation of each heating area. For this purpose, the indicator is provided with illuminators which can be independently operated. The illuminator is configurated as an independent segment having a geometric basic shape such as rectangular, preferably, circular shape.
