<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an effective opening screen while using still image data. <P>SOLUTION: A display effect (effect processing at the time of appearance) shown in (C) is performed in a display start stage of the opening screen, and an erasing effect (effect processing at the time of erasing) shown in (E) is performed in an erasing stage of the opening screen. Namely, the contents of the opening screen are made distinctly visible in the state shown in (D), but the contents of the opening screen are changed to be made gradually distinctly visible in the state that the display effect shown in (C) is performed. Conversely, the contents of the opening screen are so changed as to be gradually indistinctly visible in the state that the erasing effect shown in (E) is performed.
