PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for protecting a digital movie against copying without permission. SOLUTION: The method for embedding a watermark in the digital movie includes; temporarily storing portions of an electronic digital representation of the digital movie in at least one digital representation domain; embedding an electronic watermark in at least one of the stored digital representation domain of the movie; and presenting portions of the digital movie while the embedding is occurring.
