PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce banding at real time over a wide variety of body types of patients. SOLUTION: The banding is produced when two or more focal areas having, for example, diverging waveforms and/or frequencies are combined in a diagnostic image. Strength difference produced as a result between focal areas produces the banding in the last image. An implementation demonstrates a method (400) about two focal zones. The banding in the diagnostic image including two or more focal zones is reduced by treating the first focal zone, determining intensity around a boundary between two or more focal areas or stitch lines, and modulating the second focal area based on strength difference.
