PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proximity sensor in which the electric cord does not become obstructive and the soldering part of the electric cord can be steadily sealed in injecting and filling process of the sealing resin into the main body case. SOLUTION: The material of end plug member (212) that closes the rear end opening of the main body case (211) and makes protrude the rear end part (208a) of the output circuit board (208) is polyarylate (PAR), and the material of the electric cord sheath (214c) is polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and the material of the cord protector member (212) contacting both of them is polyester elastomer (PEE). Therefore, in the adhesion of the cord protector member (212) and the end plug member (212), and adhesion of the cord protector member (212) and the electric cord sheath (214c), excellent adhesion or adhesive strength is secured, and the soldering part of the output circuit board (208) and the electric cord (214) is sealed and the ingress of moisture is prevented.
