摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp in which a high illumination intensity maintenance factor can be obtained even if lighted for a long period. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp comprises a discharge container made of silica glass and a pair of electrodes that are arranged opposed to each other in this discharge container, and in this discharge container, at least mercury of 0.15 mg/mm<SP>3</SP>or more, a rare gas made of mainly Ar, and bromine of 2x10<SP>-4</SP>-7x10<SP>-3</SP>μmol/mm<SP>3</SP>are filled. The discharge lamp, when it is glow discharged by supplying DC current of 5 mA between the electrodes, satisfies 1.0x10<SP>-4</SP>≤b/a≤1.2x10<SP>-1</SP>, c/a≤1.4x10<SP>-1</SP>, d/a≤1.2x10<SP>-2</SP>, e/a≤1.4x10<SP>-2</SP>, provided that the luminous intensity at wavelength 668 nm of Ar is a, the luminous intensity at wavelength 309 nm of OH is b, the luminous intensity at 656 nm of H is c, the luminous intensity at 517 nm of C<SB>2</SB>is d, and the luminous intensity at 431 nm of CH is e.
