PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a device and to achieve power saving by preventing sound jumping or the like from being caused. SOLUTION: This information recording/reproducing device is provided with a reproduction part for reading reproduction data 7S from an information recording medium 1, a reproduction data storage part for storing the reproduction data 7S, and a reproduction data storage processing part 8 for managing the reproduction data 7S stored in the reproduction data storage part 7, and instructing the reading of the reproduction data according to the amount of reproduction data. When the amount of stored reproduction data is determined to be smaller than a predetermined reference value, the reproduction data storage processing part 8 determines the possibility of reproduction up to the last of music pieces being reproduced and outputted according to the amount of stored reproduction data based on a subcode signal 8S, and instructs the reading of the reproduction data 7S according to the result of the determination.
