PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming an extremely easily usable artificial membrane at a minimum production cost. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the biomimetic membrane: (a) a layer (B) is formed on the face of a plate (A); (b) one or several through holes are formed through the layer (B); (c) a layer (C) is formed over the layer (B), the wall (21) of each through hole (21) and the bottom face (22) of each through hole; (d) the layer (C) is removed from the layer (B) located directly below, and, in the central part of each hole, from the plate (A) located directly below, and simultaneously, the remainder of the layer (C) is left on the surface of the wall of each hole, thereby forming one or several through holes (24); and (e) part or the whole of the plate is removed to release the part(s) having the hole (s).
