<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating exhaust gas, in which the NOx concentration at an outlet is kept within the preset range by compensating the fuzzy correction being an advance control correction so that the amount of NH<SB>3</SB>to be injected does not become excess, and a method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The flow rate of NH<SB>3</SB>to be injected, when the NOx in the exhaust gas is reacted on a denitrification catalyst by injecting NH<SB>3</SB>, is controlled by calculating the sum total of feedback correction values of the NH<SB>3</SB>flow rate, a value of NH<SB>3</SB>demand molar ratio to be fixed by a power command value, an advance correction value based on fuzzy inference and the deviation between the NOx concentration in the exhaust gas at the outlet of a denitrification apparatus and the preset value. This exhaust gas treating method is carried out by inputting the NOx concentration in the exhaust gas at the inlet of the nitrification apparatus, the outlet NOx concentration and its preset value, its preset upper limit and its preset lower limit and the operation conditions prepared by estimating roughly the temporal fluctuations of the H<SB>2</SB>O concentration in the exhaust gas, the inlet NOx concentration, the exhaust gas flow rate and the O<SB>2</SB>concentration and outputting the optimum feedback amount of NH<SB>3</SB>to be injected by non-linear optimum control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
