CONTRAST CORRECTION DEVICE AND METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contrast correction device which has a little contrast distortion with a simple hardware configuration and a method therefor.

SOLUTION: The contrast correction device comprises a pixel value detecter for detecting a distribution (PDF) of pixel values of respective pixels for an input video signal, a pixel value limiter having already set pixel limit values for recontructing the distribution of pixel values of respective pixels based on the already set pixel limit values, and a mapper for resetting the pixel values of the respective pixels based on a cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the recontructed pixel values.
