PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate sense of incongruity due to a difference in field of view of an observation image and a taken image at a low cost with a simple constitution, in an optical instrument with a digital camera function. SOLUTION: An observing optical system for observing an object is provided. An optical system for shooting different from the observing optical system is provided, and an image of the object through the optical system for shooting is taken with an imaging device. A field of view of the optical system for shooting is contained in a region V1, and that of the observing optical system is contained in a region V2. An image of the region V1 is taken with the imaging device. An image of the region V2 is cut out from the image of the region V1.
