PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize embodiment to a hydraulic shock absorber to compose a suspension device in a vehicle while prohibiting realization of adjustment of increasing spring force in set conditions. SOLUTION: In this spring adjustment structure, a jack is held by either of one member and the other member (C) approaching to and separating from each other in existence of a spring S locked in a fixed state at one end, and it has a piston 4 applied to a movable end as the other end of the spring S, so that the piston 4 slides when working fluid is supplied from one member or the other member (C) to the jack J to move the movable end. Supply of working fluid to the jack J is only realized when approaching/separating speed between one member and the other member (C) exceeds a set speed range. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
