PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economically superior gas engine which prevents solidified siloxane from adhering to an electrode of an ignition plug, and enables the ignition plug to prolong its service life. SOLUTION: The gas engine is equipped with a main combustion chamber 2a in which digester gas previously removing organic siloxane compound is supplied as a main fuel in a cylinder 2. The gas engine 1 is provided with a sub combustion chamber 9 communicating to the main combustion chamber 2a through a flame introduction pipeline 13 having a flame injection nozzle 13a injecting a combustion flame 13b to the main combustion chamber 2a in a head cover 4 of the cylinder 2. A mixture introduction line 11 supplying city gas or kerosene different from the digester gas is communicated to the sub-combustion chamber 9, and the ignition plug 15 igniting the city gas or the kerosene is provided to the sub-combustion chamber 9.
