PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balancer for extremely reducing additional winding-up applied to a spring body compared with a conventional balancer when operating a paper sliding screen, and a double-hung window for setting an opening/closing force substantially constant regardless of a vertical position of the paper sliding screen. SOLUTION: This double-hung window includes a helical spring body 2 extended along an axis 11, a spiral movable body 3 movably inserted into the spring body 2, a pressurizing body 4 having a first through-hole 41 including a clearance dimension 141 smaller than the outside diametral dimension 14 of the movable body 3, a control body 5 having a second through-hole 51 including a clearance dimension 142 smaller than the outside diametral dimension 14 of the movable body 3 and a rotary holder 6 for keeping the movable body 3 in a freely rotatable state. The other end of the spring body 2 and the control body 5 are fixed to the same side, and the rotary holder 6 is used in a state of being fixed to a different side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
