EXHAUST GAS PURIFYING CATALYST AND METHOD FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GAS

An exhaust gas purifying catalyst comprising a catalyst component containing copper, a ZMS-5 and a beta zeolite is disclosed. A method for purifying exhaust gas of diesel engines using such a catalyst is also disclosed. By using the catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas from internal combustion engines such as diesel combustion engines, nitrogen oxides can be reduced even in exhaust gases of low temperatures, and deterioration of the catalyst can be relatively suppressed even when a high-temperature heat load is applied.
