A connector comprises a plurality of conductive terminals, and a plurality of insulative plates. Each insulative plate is provided with a recess at its upper surface, an which the terminal is seated. The plurality of insulative plates are stacked upon one another. A manufacturing method comprises the steps of providing a plurality of terminal units, each terminal unit including a carrier strip and at least one terminal connected integrally to the carrier strip, providing a plurality of insulative plates, mounting the terminal onto the recess of each insulative plate, stacking the plurality of insulative plates upon one another, and removing the carrier strip from the terminal by applying an external force. Accordingly, the pitch of the terminals can be varied variously and can be minimized by modifying the thickness of the insulative plates. |
